Woodnote: a song or call of or characteristic of a woodland bird.

The members of Woodnote have played together since the 1970's in a number of different bands (including Bullfrongs and Crickets) and feature acoustic driven instrumentals and rich vocal harmonies.

The band includes Paul McCalmont on acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, mandolin and bass, Marie Frondorf (West side community theater & P&G Singing In the Shower winner) on acoustic guitar; Norm Heck (formerly of Back In the Saddle) also on guitar and bass; Bob Littmann on acoustic,electric and lap steel guitar as well as harmonica and Chip Coburn on drums. Everyone sings.

Their music includes original songs as well as music by The Band, Beatles, Karla Bonoff, Jackson Browne, Buffalo Springfield, Mary Chapin Carpenter,Rosanne Cash, Eric Clapton, CSN&Y, Bob Dylan, Eagles, Flying Burrito Brothers, Dillards, Dixie Chicks,Fleetwood Mac Dan Fogelberg, Andrew Gold, John Gorka, Grateful Dead, Emmylou Harris, Jayhawks, Carole King, Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Nickel Creek,John Prine,Pure Prairie League,Bonnie Raitt, Rolling Stones, Simon & Garfunkel, J.D. Souther, Linda Rhonstadt James Taylor, Richard Thompson, Jerry Jeff Walker.

Past performances have included Queen City Baladeers coffehouse and Summer Concert series. (Including a backstage Beatles jam with Jerry Springer!) They have also played many local private parties, fund raisers and weddings.
